These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your purchase and use of products and services provided by SecureHome Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales ("SecureHome", "we", "us", "our"). By purchasing a SecureHome router, subscribing to our VPN service, or using any of our products, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before placing an order.
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you should not purchase or use our products and services.
SecureHome supplies a pre-configured security router designed to replace or work alongside your existing ISP-provided router. The router provides hardware firewall capabilities, network segmentation (VLANs), intrusion detection and prevention (IDS/IPS), and encrypted DNS resolution. The router is sold to you at a one-time cost of £350 (inclusive of VAT) and becomes your property upon delivery and installation.
SecureHome offers a monthly VPN encryption subscription at £8 per month (inclusive of VAT). This service routes your home internet traffic through an encrypted WireGuard VPN tunnel, providing privacy from your internet service provider and protection on your local network. The subscription includes automatic security updates, monthly security reports, and access to the SecureHome monitoring application.
Our VPN service does not include a kill switch by default. If the VPN connection is interrupted or becomes temporarily unavailable, your internet traffic will continue to flow through your standard ISP connection. This is a deliberate design choice to ensure that you never lose internet access. The router's local security features (firewall, network segmentation, encrypted DNS, and IDS/IPS) continue to operate independently of the VPN connection at all times.
If you require a kill switch (whereby internet access is blocked entirely if the VPN tunnel drops), please contact us to discuss configuration options. This is not enabled by default and must be explicitly requested.
SecureHome significantly improves the security posture of your home network. However, no security product can guarantee absolute protection against all threats. Our service is designed to protect against common network-level attacks, eavesdropping, and unauthorised access to your home network. It does not protect against threats that originate from user behaviour, including but not limited to phishing attacks, social engineering, voluntarily downloading malicious software, sharing passwords, or granting access to untrusted individuals or applications.
Installation of your SecureHome router is carried out by independent third-party engineers. These engineers operate as sole traders or independent contractors and are not employees, agents, or representatives of SecureHome Ltd. While we work with engineers who are trained and familiar with our products, SecureHome does not employ, supervise, or control these individuals.
The standard installation includes connecting the SecureHome router to your broadband line, configuring your home network to route through the router, verifying that your devices reconnect successfully, and running an initial security audit. The engineer will provide you with a security report showing your network score before and after installation.
SecureHome is not liable for any damage to your property, equipment, or existing network configuration caused during the installation process by a third-party engineer. Any disputes relating to the installation service should be directed to the engineer or their employing organisation in the first instance. SecureHome will endeavour to assist where reasonably possible but accepts no legal liability for the acts or omissions of third-party installers.
The SecureHome security router is sold at a one-time price of £350 inclusive of VAT. Payment is due at the time of order. The router hardware becomes your property upon delivery and installation.
The VPN subscription is billed monthly at £8 per month inclusive of VAT. Payment is collected automatically via your chosen payment method. We reserve the right to adjust subscription pricing with at least 60 days' written notice. Any price change will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle following the notice period.
All payments are processed by third-party payment processors. SecureHome does not directly store your full payment card details. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details on how your payment information is handled.
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your purchase within 30 days of receiving the SecureHome router, without giving any reason. This is your statutory cooling-off period.
To exercise your right to cancel, you must inform us of your decision by a clear statement. You can do this by emailing hello@securehome.co.uk or by writing to us at our registered address. You must return the router hardware in its original condition, including all cables and accessories. We will arrange collection or provide return instructions at no cost to you.
If you cancel within the 30-day cooling-off period, we will refund the full purchase price of the router (£350) and any subscription fees already paid, within 14 days of receiving the returned hardware. Refunds will be made using the same payment method used for the original purchase, unless you expressly agree otherwise.
If you requested that the VPN subscription service begin during the cooling-off period and you subsequently cancel, you will be charged a proportionate amount for the service used up to the point of cancellation.
You may cancel your VPN subscription at any time by giving us 30 days' written notice. You can cancel by emailing hello@securehome.co.uk. Your subscription will remain active until the end of the 30-day notice period, after which no further payments will be taken.
When your VPN subscription ends, you retain full ownership of the SecureHome router hardware. The router's local security features (firewall, network segmentation, encrypted DNS, IDS/IPS) will continue to function. However, VPN encryption, automatic security updates, monitoring via the SecureHome app, and monthly security reports will cease. There are no cancellation fees or early termination charges.
You may reactivate your VPN subscription at any time by contacting us. Reactivation is subject to the subscription price current at the time of reactivation.
The SecureHome router comes with a 12-month manufacturer warranty from the date of delivery. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. During the warranty period, we will repair or replace any defective unit at no cost to you, at our discretion.
The warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, accidental damage, unauthorised modification or repair, power surges, water damage, exposure to extreme temperatures, or use of the router in a manner inconsistent with its intended purpose. Normal wear and tear is also excluded.
To make a warranty claim, contact us at hello@securehome.co.uk with a description of the fault. We will provide instructions for return or replacement. This warranty is in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
SecureHome significantly improves the security of your home network but does not guarantee protection against all cyber threats. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SecureHome shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, business interruption, or damage to equipment, arising out of or in connection with your use of our products and services.
Without limiting the generality of the above, SecureHome accepts no liability for:
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to SecureHome in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms shall limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by applicable law. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by these Terms.
You agree to:
All intellectual property rights in the SecureHome router firmware, software, application, website, branding, and related materials are owned by SecureHome Ltd or our licensors. Your purchase of a router and subscription to our service grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use our software and services for personal, domestic use. You may not copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any of our proprietary materials.
We are committed to protecting your personal data. Our collection, use, and handling of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. By using our products and services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.
We reserve the right to suspend or restrict your access to the VPN subscription service if we reasonably believe that you are using the service in breach of these Terms, for any unlawful purpose, or in a manner that threatens the security, integrity, or availability of our infrastructure.
We may terminate your subscription with 30 days' written notice if you are in material breach of these Terms and have failed to remedy the breach within 14 days of receiving written notice from us. In the event of termination by us for cause, no refund of prepaid fees will be given for the remaining period. You will retain ownership of the router hardware.
Upon termination of your subscription (whether by you or by us), the VPN encryption service and associated features will cease. You retain ownership of the router hardware. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including limitation of liability, intellectual property, and governing law) will continue in full force and effect.
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our products, services, or applicable law. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of our products and services after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you may cancel your subscription in accordance with Section 6.
SecureHome shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under these Terms where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of government, internet or telecommunications outages, power failures, pandemics, or cyberattacks on our infrastructure by third parties.
Our products and services may interact with or depend upon third-party services, including internet service providers, DNS providers, payment processors, and hosting providers. SecureHome is not responsible for the availability, reliability, or performance of any third-party service. Any issues with third-party services should be directed to the relevant provider.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and SecureHome Ltd in relation to your use of our products and services. They supersede all prior agreements, representations, and understandings, whether oral or written.
If any provision of these Terms is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable. If modification is not possible, the provision shall be severed from these Terms, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer to bring proceedings in your local courts if you are resident in another part of the United Kingdom.
